Analysis of Travel Mode Choices for KTX Service Access — A Case Study at Iksan Railway Station of Korea
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2007
Abstract
To improve the accessibility of KTX service at Iksan railway station, in this case study, a revealed and stated preference survey was conducted in two cities. The rough set theory was applied to find out the relationships between the present mode choice preferences and general demographic information, and the output of rough set theory provided a series of readable decision rules to help transit managers. The validation result of decision rules showed the accuracy of 92.35%, which indicated that the rules performed well in representing the relationships. At the same time, a SP model based on the stated preference data was developed to elucidate the passengers' mode choice behavior.
