Simulation and Analysis in Hazardous Materials Transportation Based on Risk
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2007
Abstract
Based on the basic risk analysis in hazardous materials transportation and using the expert simulation software, the paper analyzed effect of different factors on risk of transporting hazardous materials. The result indicates that wind speed, atmospheric stability, ground roughness affect the acreage by hazardous materials leakage and dispersion, thereby result in the total population risk during the hazardous materials transportation. The analysis in the paper provides decision warranty for route selection, risk appraisal and other issues in hazardous materials transportation.
