Operating Efficiency of China Civil Airports Based on Malmquist TFP Index

Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2007

Abstract

The paper analyses the operating efficiency of China civil airports by using Malmquist TFP index of DEA. By choosing nine sample airports, setting input and output indicators and analyzing correlation between them, the fact that China civil airports' operation increment is heavily dependent on the expansion of airports' infrastructure, and the scale. The technology efficiency remaining unchanged during the process is discovered. With the rapid expanding of airports' infrastructure, management and technology efficiency decrease gradually, and the airport's operational efficiency declines too. Besides that, the fact of positive correlation between china civil airports' efficiency and scale isn't discovered.
