Research of the 4th Party Logistics Network Platform Based on XML
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2007
Abstract
This paper researches how to develop the 4th part logistics network platform which is multi-organization and multi-department by making use of XML technique in order to deal with logistics bottleneck which is insurmountable to 3PL. Firstly, it analyses logistics model with 4PL participated; Then, how to choose logistics optional projects is designed; Finally, to develop the 4th part logistics network platform by using scientific information system analysis method. This paper also gives the main function model of 4PL network platform, and explains the process of transforming data in different systems by making use of XML document. This network platform is oriented to supply chain nodes and adopts multi-layer architecture. By means of uniform XML format the interior or exterior data could be exchanged. This makes it have high extensibility, and be up to the electronic commerce development trend, and largely reduce the integration cost of information between logistics enterprise and customer enterprise.
