Abstract
The vehicle routing problem with simultaneous delivery and pick-up (named VRPSDP for simplification in the following context) is presented in this paper, at the same time, the model and denotation system for VRPSDP are listed in detail. To overcome the shortcomings of the popular inserting criterion based on traveling distance, a new inserting criterion with heuristics for VRPSDP is put forward, the residual loading capacity and traveling distance of vehicles are integrated effectively.
