Simulation of Entire Derailment Course of a Freight Train on the Yellow River Bridge of Beijing-Guangzhou Railway
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2007
Abstract
The calculation of entire derailment course of a train running on a bridge is the basic work for analyzing train derailment on bridge. A method for calculation of the entire derailment course of the train on the bridge is presented based on the theory of random energy analysis for train derailment. Take into account a freight train derailment accident occurred on the Yellow River bridge of Beijing-guangzhou railway line, the entire derailment course of the train on the bridge is calculated according to the method. The responses and characteristics of the train-bridge system vibration are obtained when the freight train derails on the bridge. In order to comparison, the performance of the freight train running on the bridge is analyzed according to the assumption of close contact between wheel and rail. The calculated results demonstrate that the entire derailment course of the train on the bridge cannot be calculated by the assumption. The method in this paper may perform an important function for repeating the entire derailment course of a train on a bridge.
