Abstract
This paper presents a bi-level mathematical programming model for investigating day-to-day receiving and adjusting process to the information released by Advanced Traveler Information Systems (ATIS). The upper level aims at seeking an optimal information release strategy for making road system evolve towards user equilibrium and the lower level is a logit-based route choice model on the base of adjusted travel times by travelers. The model is converted into a dynamic programming model and solved by solving a series of sequential minimization programs. Numerical results are presented to verify the analytical findings.
