Prediction Model and Genetic Algorithm of Car Flow for Stage Operating Plan at Railway Technical Station
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2007
Abstract
Stage operating plan is mainly used to solve three interrelated problems: determination of source of outbound trains, operation of shunting locomotive and operation of arrival-and-departure-track. Considering that make-up content and source of outbound trains are closely connected with operation of shunting locomotive, with shunting locomotive as the core, the prediction model of car flow for stage operating plan of technical station is established. Starting with optimizing break-up sequence, combining with the tabular method for car flow prediction under certain conditions of break-up scheme, the hybrid-genetic algorithm is designed to solve this model, and corresponding software is developed to verify the algorithm by example. Such example proves that the runtime of the algorithm on normal Pentium IV computer is shorter than 5 minutes and with preferable convergence rate and real time performance.
