Method of Measuring Workload about Delivering Express Goods at the Destination City
Publication: International Conference on Transportation Engineering 2007
Abstract
If one unit among "ton-km", "batch", "kg" and "piece" is used to calculate express goods' delivery workload at the destination city, the results can't reflect the impacts that the factors (delivery distance, weight, batch, piece) took to actual delivery workload. The average delivery distance can be considered as a constant factor in calculating express goods' delivery workload at the destination city, and "batch", "weight", "piece" can be synthetically considered as variable factors. The notion of using "converted piece" as a measurement unit is presented, then the formula of delivery workload of the destination city and the method to confirm the weighing of factors (such as weight, batch etc) which influence delivery workload are also given, those provide the method and theory for express corporations to scientifically and reasonably calculate their delivery workload.
