Implication of Soil Behavior in Load Transfer Mechanisms of Axially Loaded Single Piles

Publication: Advances in Measurement and Modeling of Soil Behavior

Abstract

Using numerical modelling, the main goal of this paper is to identify the underlying mechanisms in the pile soil interaction when a single pile is axially loaded. In addition, the implications of the soil behavior in the prediction of the ultimate shaft and base resistance, as well as in the load settlement curves, are studied in terms of soils's stress paths and load transfer curves.
