Abstract
Cellular automata (CA) models have been used in simulation of traffic flow on freeway, but the application on street network are not studied sufficiently. The studies and analyses reported here focus on the description of two-dimension (2D) CA model of an intersection and the cellular automata network (CAN) model on street network integrated 1D and 2D CA. The model can be used as a heuristic tool for analyzing and observing the vehicle evolution on street network.
