Abstract
The recent boom in the APM industry has not only increased the number of APM installations, but also stimulated the evolution of different procurement alternatives that owners have decided to use. There are definite advantages to all types over the extremes of the procurement strategy spectrum, from design-bid-build to the total turnkey. The choice owners make depends heavily on the particular goals and parameters of each APM project. This paper looks at several different recent APM installations, with a goal of identifying the advantages and disadvantages of the different procurement options.
