Development of Standards for Automated People Movers
Publication: Automated People Movers: Moving Through the Millennium
Abstract
This paper describes the automated people mover standards, the process used to develop them, and the way they are being used today. It also describes activity presently under way by the committee to develop a fourth standard to cover all aspects of APM operations including not only operation and maintenance but also security, emergency preparedness, acceptance testing, oversight, and periodic inspection and testing.
