Maintaining Safety in Automated Transit, The Val Experience:
Publication: Automated People Movers: Moving Through the Millennium
Abstract
This paper describes the methodology used for the safety analysis of the second line extension. An important part of this analysis is the impact of new rolling stock equipment, vehicles used on line 2 are compatible with those used on line 1.This paper will also present the role and the operation of the safety group which, for twenty three years, has dealt with the safety of the automated transport system VAL in Lille and a few words about the impact of vandalism.
