Abstract
The interest for an APM-system started during the late eighties in Uppsala. Several studies have been carried out over the past 10 years. This paper presents some of these studies and concentrates on the process in the city (political, press, public, etc.) and describes the current status of the Uppsala APM project. At the APM conference in 1997 we presented the results of the work at that time. Now, some years later, the work has been completed with more studies. For example, a new routenet has been developed to replace parts of the recent network and studies concerning safety and security in APM-systems. The APM-system is the base of the future public transport system in Uppsala.
