Abstract
Present paper summarizes experiences of authors in offering an online programming course in fall 1999 for engineering students at Virginia Tech. Results of student surveys indicated that the online version of course was not well received by the students. A number of honor violation cases were recorded. Use of listservs in online instructions is described. Analysis of homework submission data indicated that the online nature of course did not help in students' procrastination problems.
