Afflux Due to Rectangular Bridge Pier

Publication: Building Partnerships

Abstract

In order to study the effect of different parameters on the amount of afflux due to rectangular pier, extensive experiments were conducted. The variables under study were upstream Froude number, contraction ratio and angle of pier axes with respect to flow direction. A regression-based model was developed which enables accurate determination of afflux.
