HEC's Flood Damage Analysis (HEC-FDA) Program
Publication: Building Partnerships
Abstract
The Hydrologic Engineering Center (HEC) is developing high-end computer software for performing comprehensive flood impact analyses for watershed studies. The program, Flood Damage Analysis Version 2.0, merges the HEC's Flood Damage Analysis (FDA) Version 1.0 with the HEC's Flood Impact Analysis (FIA) Version 1.0 into a powerful new program. It uses discharge exceedance probabilities to formulate and evaluate flood damage reduction measures with risk-based analysis approaches. FDA Version 2.0 also uses single or sequential hydrologic events to evaluate flood impacts. The new program adds capabilities for user interactive analysis and displays using spatially referenced data. It is scheduled for completion and release in the fall of 2000. The release will include a user's manual and other documentation as appropriate.
