The Battle of Intermittent Water Supply (BIWS) took place during the 2nd International Joint Conference on Water Distribution System Analysis (WDSA) and Computing and Control in the Water Industry (CCWI), held in Valencia (Spain) in July 2022 at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Valencia Tech). During this event, different solutions provided by various international research groups participating in the challenge were presented. This Special Collection compiles the different solutions presented by the participants and an article that summarizes both the definition of the BIWS conditions and the developments achieved by each of the teams.
