The 1st and 2nd International Workshop on Sustainability Innovation in Transportation Infrastructure were held in spring of 2017 and 2018 at University of Tennessee Knoxville. A wide variety of topics in pavement areas were discussed during the workshops, including pavement materials, design, performance and testing, construction, operations, and preservation, climate adaptation, etc. Papers on research findings, innovations, and insights from invited experts at these two workshops were collected to compose this special collection.
