To ensure the integrity and safety of structures and structural components, computational tools and algorithms must consider a high number of variables that influence the assessment/analysis of engineering problems. The analysis, supported by experimental investigation, serves to evaluate the structural safety as well as extend structures’ operating time. Through combining the deterministic and computational modeling techniques, research on failure mechanism, risk, and reliability can provide assurance for new structures and systems at the design stage as well as the structural-integrity assessment for existing structures. This special collection is intended to be a forum for discussion of the recent advances in computer-aided structural integrity and safety of structures and structural components. The collection provides a platform for sharing the latest advances and trends in structural integrity and safety for the sustainability and extension of the useful life of structures and infrastructure. The papers in this special collection will be valuable contributions from engineers and researchers interested in the topic of structural integrity.
