Water scarcity due to an exponentially growing population, economic development, and climate change in recent decades, is a problem that affects the sustainability of agricultural processes, especially in some regions of the world where the current use of groundwater and surface water resources has already reached maximum capacity. It is therefore essential to adopt innovative management strategies, technologies, and policies in order to enhance the sustainability of irrigated agriculture.
