Editor’s Note
Publication: Journal of Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste
Volume 16, Issue 3
New Manuscript Submission Requirements
All manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste should be accompanied by a list of four potential reviewers whom the authors suggest. This list should include the complete name, address, telephone and fax numbers, e-mail address, and a list of at least five key words that identify the expertise of each reviewer. The Journal is not obligated to use all or any of the recommended reviewers; however, we believe that this policy will lead to an improved review process.
All submissions for special issues should be uploaded to our electronic system, Editorial Manager. Please visit the Journal’s website for more information and for links to the online submission/review system.
Special Issues
We have published several dedicated issues in the past on special topics, and we plan to follow this practice in the future. The following topics are planned for future dedicated or special issues in the order listed:
•
Bioenergy and biofuels from biowaste and biomass;
•
Sustainability;
•
Membrane technology;
•
Nanomaterials and nanotechnology;
•
Emerging contaminants of concern;
•
Green engineering;
•
Bioremediation; and
•
Health risk assessment.
Papers in This Issue
This issue includes technical articles describing a critical review on chemical stabilization of metal contaminants in shooting range soils; iodide retention by modified kaolinite in the context of safe disposal of high-level nuclear waste; electrokinetic migration of nickel [Ni(II)] in contaminated sludge; simulation-optimization model for in situ bioremediation of groundwater contamination using meshfree point collocation; an analytical model for stress-strain response of plastic waste mixed soil; analysis of one-dimensional contaminant migration through saturated soil media underlying aquifer using the finite-difference method; adsorptive chromium removal by some clayey soil for abatement of tannery waste pollution; landfill gas to energy applications in India: prefeasibility analysis of Mumbai landfills; heavy metals in water, sediments, and aquatic macrophytes: a case study in River Hindon, India; and synthesis and characterization of a new ion exchanger tamarind 5-amino salicylic acid hydroximate resin and its application in removal and recovery of toxic metal ions from effluent of Karishma Textile, Jodhpur, India.
