Special Issue on Performance of Transportation Infrastructure

The Journal’s Editorial Board is pleased to present this issue on performance of transportation infrastructure. Included are an introductory guest editorial by Dr. Dar Hao Chen and Dr. Paulo Cruz as well as 11 technical papers focused on improving the economics and sustainability of transportation-related projects.

This special topic issue was conceived and organized by Dr. Chen, Pavement Engineer, Texas Department of Transportation. Dr. Chen was cochairman of the Geohunan International Conference, held June 9–11, 2011, in Hunan, China. The papers in this issue were written after the conference at the invitation of Dr. Chen and Dr. Cruz. It was a pleasure to work with them throughout the manuscript solicitation and review process. We trust that our readers will find these papers useful in the design, construction, and operation of the transportation infrastructure.
