Publication: Journal of Composites for Construction
Volume 17, Issue 3
Dr. L. Javier Malvar of the Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center in Port Hueneme, California, has rotated off the International Editorial Board of the Journal of Composites for Construction. Dr. Malvar was appointed to the board in March 2001 and has provided guidance and expertise, primarily relating to concrete confinement with fiber-reinforced composites. I thank Dr. Malvar for his many years of outstanding service to the Journal.
Dr. Amir Fam of Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, has been appointed to a two-year renewable position on the International Editorial Board of the Journal of Composites for Construction. Dr. Fam is a full professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and holds a Canada Research Chair in Innovative and Retrofitted Structures. He has published extensively on the use of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites for the reinforcement and prestressing of new concrete structures and for strengthening existing concrete, masonry, and metallic structures. He is also interested in innovative systems, including FRP structurally integrated stay-in-place formwork for concrete structures, such as concrete-filled FRP tubes. Dr. Fam obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Manitoba. He is a registered professional engineer and a member of ASCE.
