Erratum for “Experimental and Numerical Evaluation of Older Chevron Concentrically Braced Frames with Hollow and Concrete-Filled Braces” by Barbara G. Simpson and Stephen A. Mahin

An erroneous equation in the final published version is clarified in this erratum. The following correction to Eq. (2) should be made to the original paper:

Eq. (2) should be nonlinear. At yield of end $j$, the end rotations, $\mathbf{\theta }$, can be related to the end moments, $\mathbf{Q}+\mathrm{\Delta }\mathbf{Q}$, through the following equation:where ${\theta }_i$ and ${\theta }_j$ = chord rotations at yield of end $i$ and end $j$, respectively; ${\theta }_h$ = additional hinging at partially restrained (PR) connections; $Q_i$ = force at end $i$; $Q_{PR}$ = yield strength of PR end; and $Q_y$ = yield strength of fixed end. Assuming only small strain hardening, the force at end $i$ can be assumed to remain approximately the same after yielding and $Q_i\cong Q_{PR}$.
