Standard Calculation Methods for Structural Fire Protection

historical

Abstract

  • Copublished with the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE)

Standard Calculation Methods for Structural Fire Protection provides methods of calculating the fire resistance of selected structural members and barrier assemblies made from structural steel, plain concrete, reinforced concrete, timber and wood, concrete masonry, and clay masonry. The development of this Standard represents a joint effort between the Structural Engineering Institute of ASCE and SFPE.

These methods are intended to provide architects, engineers, building officials, and others with calculation methods that give fire-resistance results equivalent to those in ASTM E119.
