Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures

historical

Abstract

  • Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures provides requirements for dead, live, soil, flood, wind, snow, rain, ice, and earthquake loads, as well as their combinations, which are suitable for inclusion in building codes and other documents. This Standard, a revision of ASCE/SEI 7-95, contains new material and other changes including an expanded wind loads section, new requirement for flood and ice loads, and improved requirements for snow and earthquake loads. ASCE/SEI 7-95 also includes a detailed Commentary containing explanatory and supplementary information designed to assist building code committees and regulatory authorities.

Architects, structural engineers, and those engaged in preparing and administering local building codes will find the structural load requirements provided by this standard essential.

Known errata for ASCE/SEI 7-98 can be found on the SEI website (http://www.asce.org/sei/errata).
