Process Control Computers for Educational Exercises

Abstract
Described herein is a teaching apparatus consisting of a process control computer which can be linked to a student designed laboratory scale model of an earthwork construction. The device was designed to allow undergraduate students to gain some experience in the performance of real earthwork problems. As in any technique involving scale modeling, the student must be informed of the existence and importance of scale effects.
