Lime-Treated Soils For Pavement Construction
Publication: Journal of the Highway Division
Volume 94, Issue 2
Abstract
An evaluation of the properties and characteristics of lime-treated soils and an analysis of service conditions (stresses, displacements, durability) for lime-soil pavements layers indicate that lime-stabilized soils can be used for many highway-pavement applications. The quality of the lime-soil mixture must be assessed prior to determining its use in the pavement system, i.e., modified subgrade, subbase, base. Tentative quality requirements, based on unconfined compressive strength, are presented for various usages.
