Abstract
A dynamic simulation model of the precast concrete industry has been constructed in an attempt to lend objectivity, comprehensiveness and speed to the decision-making process at the industry level. Model results clearly suggest that the future growth of the precast concrete industry depends above all on its own ability to plan ahead so that high factory utilization, apparently an indispensable condition, can be guaranteed all or most of the time. Additionally, results show that the industry would gain by moving to prefabrication of a higher percentage of construction than is currently the case.
