Abstract
A recent survey of Civil Engineering Education indicates that 56% of the Engineering Schools surveyed regularly utilize engineers from practice in the classroom. With the current trend toward increasing engineering enrollments and the shortage of qualified candidates for full-time faculty positions, the use of practicing engineers to meet the needs of an academic unit will become even more important. This paper attempts to outline some of the experiences that universities have had using practitioners in the classroom at an undergraduate level.
