Energy Method for Soil Stability Analyses

Abstract
This paper presents a general method for soil stability analyses, first described in 1973 in Ref. 12. The method, which is an extension of the upper-bound method of analysis, employs well-known principles from the plasticity theory and basic soil mechanics principles.
