Light Gauge Cold-Formed Steel Profile for Decks in Housing Units
Publication: Practice Periodical on Structural Design and Construction
Volume 14, Issue 4
Abstract
For the decking of dwellings a new light gauge cold-formed steel channel profile has been developed and applied. It is cold formed from steel sheet. Its design is based on AISI in 1983. Buckling and conditions at the supports are analyzed. Application to a one-family house is shown. Advantages and drawbacks are considered.
