Abstract
Photologging to collect data for a computerized sign inventory system is inexpensive and minimizes error. Such a system provides for instantaneous data retrieval, the establishment of long-range planning programs for sign installation and replacement, improved traffic signing, and identification of signs not conforming to national standards. These sign inventory projects are eligible for federal funding under the highway safety programs.
