Development of an International Airport

Abstract
Although the solutions of the specific problems encountered at one international airport cannot be applied to another airport, there are presented herein some general rules and criteria for the development of a master plan. It i s essential that the fun ction of the airport be examined in relation to travel and the community. Furthermore, realistic appraisals must be· made of future travel-including generated traffic. The terminal, which is the hub of the a irport, must be planned to provide the traveler with all conveniences and services because it is the traveler that supports and maintains the airport; were it not for him, the entire project would vanish.
