Handling Atomic Energy Industry Wastes
Publication: Transactions of the American Society of Civil Engineers
Volume 121, Issue 1
Abstract
The problems of waste treatment and disposal in the atomic energy industry are of unusual consequence. The health and welfare of people and the protection of natural resources may be involved to a much more serious extent than in the case of any other type of waste. The problems are augmented by the relative lack of current knowledge of adequate and economical methods and by the potentially rapid expansion of the industry.
