Geodetic Monuments for Eccentric Property Corners
Publication: Journal of the Surveying and Mapping Division
Volume 108, Issue 1
Abstract
Problem areas in land information systems are identified and described and solutions are proposed. The main areas discussed include a method of equitable property taxation, replacement of an archaic land conveyance system and implementation of intelligent land use and resource planning. It is suggested that independent solutions to these problems are inadequate. A multipurpose cadastre, which would be a land conveyance system, a property taxation system, and a database for land use and resource planning, is proposed.
