Rectangular-Bar Trashrack and Baffle Headlosses
Abstract
An evaluation is made of the headloss caused by rectangular-bar trash-racks and baffles. The influences of bar depth and bar spacing are discussed. For bar depth to thickness ratios > 3.0 the headloss can be accurately estimated using only the velocity of approach and the rack or baffle flow area.
