Abstract

Reasons why the civil engineer is interested in urban planning and why civil engineers are logical and wise choices for leadership roles in urban planning are examined. Education of civil engineers, for this role, at the graduate level should include the development of an appreciation of the many disciplines that contribute to urban planning and the ability to give comprehensiveness to the urban plan.
