Editor in Chief Signing Off

On September 30, 2024, I will conclude my tenure as editor in chief. It has been an unparalleled privilege and honor to serve in this role since June 2011 for the premier journal of the construction engineering and management community. Our 47-member Editorial Board, along with 1,800 reviewers, have been the gatekeepers of scholarly quality through a rigorous peer-review process. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the more than 10,000 authors who have entrusted their best scholarly work to the ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management (JCEM).

On October 1, 2024, Dr. Carlos H. Caldas from the University of Texas at Austin will assume the role of editor in chief. Following a national search that culminated in his selection, we began a transition in January 2024, implemented through weekly meetings. Dr. Caldas is more than ready to elevate our journal to new heights. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Caldas as the next editor in chief.

I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the first-class administrative support from Ashby Hayes and Laura Ashby, who have served as loyal and dedicated editor-in-chief assistants. Their steadfast commitment and contributions have made JCEM one of the most efficient ASCE journals. Finally, I offer my sincere appreciation to the leadership of the ASCE Construction Institute and to the outstanding ASCE publication staff for their unwavering support—your help and counsel through the years has been priceless.
