Abstract
A survey of university programs in engineering management is presented. The programs in business administration and engineering management are compared, and the efforts of promoting engineering management by engineering colleges and professional societies are described. The diverse views among engineering educators on undergraduate courses in engineering management as well as the range of such courses are considered. The rationale and some of the new thrusts for graduate programs in engineering management are examined. Among the new thrusts are: Technology Innovation, Construction Management, and Engineering and Public Policy.
