Political Involvement of Civil Engineers

Abstract
Political involvement of engineers need not be accomplished on a visible basis with flag-waving in the name of Civil Engineering. Far more will be accomplished in a more subtle fashion by civil engineers acting in the capacities of trusted advisors, as party workers, and as local elected officials. All of these actions can be accomplished with relative freedom with respect to our Canons of Ethics. Political involvement then assumes the nature of a game with rules of play.
