Toward A More United ASCE

Effective interaction between various levels and component groups within ASCE is an objective that has been recognized but has not yet been achieved. Unified effort was launched with the convocation of the first Council of Presidents at the ASCE Denver Convention in November 1975. The second major phase centers around a restructuring of the Section Management Conferences. These will be recast as a series of grass roots conferences organized by zones each year during January or February. District Directors will effect closer relations between the national and local units of the Society. Another recommendation is the ASCE newspaper, which is appearing monthly during 1976.
