Breaking New Ground

Abstract
With this issue of the new PAC journal, ASCE is breaking new ground. Additions are being made toward the advancement of the science of engineering. Recognition will be secured to permit the civil engineer to make his full contribution to modern society. Policies developed by the technical divisions will be promoted before public, legislative bodies, and all applicable levels of government. Intensified activity is also planned in the more familiar areas of education and professional practice. Better public appreciation of the civil engineer will be promoted. The economic advancement of members of the profession will be promoted.
