Model Tests for Bearing Capacity in Sand

Abstract
This paper presents some recent laboratory model test results for ultimate bearing capacity of rough rectangular footings in sand with a rigid rough base located at a limited depth and compares these results with the theories presented by Mandel and Salencon and Meyerhof.
