Review of Noise Reduction of the Highway Bridge Expansion Joints

ABSTRACT
Noise control has become one of the major concerns for modern urban viaducts. The noise sources of highway bridge expansion joints are briefly introduced in this paper, and the commonly used expansion joints are discussed and reviewed systematically from the aspects of noise generation mechanism, noise influencing factors, noise reduction effect and application status. The suitability and feasibility of these noise reduction measures of expansion joints are discussed, which could provide certain references for the type selection of expansion joints in practical engineering. Based on the domestic and foreign research data, the noise reduction problems needed to be solved in the future are also discussed. The paperprovides new perspectives and basic data for academic researches on noise reduction expansion joints.
