ABSTRACT
In order to study the combination of permanent-temporary protection efficiency, this paper establishes three-dimensional model and finite element model, sets collision conditions and evaluation criteria according to relevant specifications, and uses LS-DYNA solver to solve the model from maximum dynamic deformation and vehicle body. Acceleration and facility energy absorption are relatively protective. The simulation data shows that the energy absorption of the permanent and temporary combination of traffic protection facilities is smaller than that of the wave beam guardrail during the collision process; however, the permanent and temporary combination of traffic protection facilities has a smaller deformation amount, the protection effect is more obvious, and there is better guidance in the collision. In addition, the maximum environmental acceleration of the guardrail in the collision simulation is close to 20 g, thus, safety protection of the vehicle occupants is reduced. The above research results show that combination of permanent-temporary traffic protection facilities can better prevent vehicles from driving out of the lane compared with corrugated W-beam guardrail, but the protection effect for vehicle occupants is poor. The above results provide a basis for selecting facilities according to the surrounding conditions of the construction area of renovation and expansion projects.
