ABSTRACT
Governments have been publicizing the concept of environmental protection and promoting the habit of public transportation. However, there is still a lack of quantitative analysis of whether the environmental concern of individual travelers is affected by habit. To quantitatively compare and describe the role of environmental concern and habit in mode choice behavior of public transport, this study constructs the TPB model A of travel mode choice behavior, the extended TPB model B of increasing environmental concern, and the extended TPB model C of environmental concern and habit, based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB) and habitual-driven behavior. Finally, we used Chongqing as an example. The results show that habit partially mediated the effect of environmental concern on public transport travel. In terms of the effect, behavioral intention, perceptual behavior control, and habit have the most significant effect on public transport travel behavior, while environmental concern less effect.
