The Analysis of Bus Route Optimization Based on Taxi GPS Data
Publication: CICTP 2020
ABSTRACT
This research obtains passengers’ getting on and off points and analyzes the temporal and spatial characteristics of passengers’ travel by processing and analyzing the data of the taxi trajectory in Xi’an for one week using Mysql. Using the morning peak passenger flow data from 7:00 to 9:00 to get the best taxi travel routes by the tools of GIS and Cube, it explores the shortage of the bus line layout by analyzing the bus lines between the routes. The bus route is optimized based on the taxi carrying points, and relevant suggestions and countermeasures are put forward. The study found that the number of taxi trips reached its peak on Saturdays. The improper layout of the bus lines and the low level of service have become the main reasons for travelers choosing taxis.
